obd2 not communicating

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a polo gti 2001 plate and when I try to connect to my ECU via the obd port using either autcom or vagcom it doesn't connect , it says it can't establish communication with the ECU... The port does produce power and it did work previously but now its not working . anyone have any solutions ? I have tried to remove my aftermarket radio as I read it can cause miscommunication with the ECU but that didn't work.

No , it produces power through the obd but nothing else :s the car run perfectly so I dont know what it could be as it was working previously :/

There should be +12v on pin 16 grounds on pins 3 & 4 and pin7 is the "K" diagnostic line, all the K lines are joined together in the loom and go to the various ecu's You are trying to connect with the ignition ON ? as nothing will respond without it being on

Am trying to connect to the ECU to try to read it but I will not respond even if the car is turned on or if the ignition is on...

Have you had a look at the connector to make sure the pin 7 socket hasn't pushed out of the housing?
