Hi, I'm selling my current running gear as I'm swapping to a 1.6.

Engine; ABD 1.4, rebuilt bottom end 8,000 miles ago. New gaskets and seals throughout, skimmed head, lapped valves. Compression is good on all 4 cylinders and it is smooth and quite (tappets are a little noisy when first started up. The cylinder head is the desirable 7mm valve-stem version. Comes with Weber 32/34 DMTL which is set up well and had had a rebuild.

The engine was properly run-in after te rebuild and has had an oil change every 2,000 miles.

My mk2 is absolutely brilliant with this engine, it had loads of torque and is very lively. The only negative is that one of the rocker cover bolts is an m8 instead of m6 due to a bad thread.

The gearbox is from a 1.0 and is a 5 speed, not sure on the code. It came from a 40,000 mile car and has had fresh oil.

This is only pic of the engine I have, taken after the rebuild (it's an Instagram pic). Obviously the paint won't be as good any more as it had been used regularly. Manifold not included.

I'm down Cornwall but don't mind travelling, as I was just going to search my local scrappies for the engine and traipse through eBay for carbs, so all in all may be better. Will this slot straight into my mk2? Is there any mods needed?
