Welding Lesson (West Yorkshire)

Featured Replies

Evening all - one for any West Yorkshire heads.

Bit cheeky of me really, but would anyone be able to give me a quick welding lesson one evening?

I'll provide beers/food/money in exchange for your time - I've got the panels ready for it all.

There is a fantastic amount of information available online and through youtube. Get some scrap and have a play if you can't find anyone to give you some tips. Or take an evening course.

I've been looking to take an evening course in welding. I have had a go before but I wasn't very good because the visor always went too dark for me to actually see anything when welding. And I was just generally shite at it! :)

I've got a helmet (that I got from eBay) that auto switches, and you can adjust the dimming too, it was only about £25.

Make sure your lighting is good, I've got a portable floodlight that I move around, which is perfect, although I'm starting to get a tanned neck!

It really is just a case of practise practise practise. Do you have a welder if so what's the specs so we can give u some base settings. But in general just try it on some scrap like said see what's it's like and go from there u will soon find the ways of doing it. Just do a little line check the penetration and what it looks like tap with hammer that will soon tell u if it's solid.
