So i've been given my Granddad's Polo 9n...

Featured Replies

I have recently been given my Granddad's Polo 9n, it's a 1.4 petrol and it's silver. You'll all laugh but it pains me to say it's a automatic. Being 18 driving a automatic isn't exactly something i would like to brag about but it's pretty quick still. Anyways some of my friends have been making sly comments and i want to show them up, what could i do to my Polo 9N to make it look GOOD!

I'm new.. so please don't make the piss too much!

You can go down the road of subtle mods or simply laugh back at people that don't drive if they happen to be the ones.

Set of nice alloys, lowering the car - but come modding comes the extra ££££, being 18 I wouldn't bother modding your car because it will cost an arm and a leg. Be aware we don't promote not telling your insurance company about mods you make as it will void the policy and they won't pay out in any event of an accident.

You also shouldn't be wanting to change 'just to impress your friends'. Enjoy the car, look after it and be happy that you got your independence and can go anywhere anytime you want.

Oh and welcome to ClubPolo!

a free car just saved you a large sum of money so good stuff

If your friend's take the piss, point out that at least you have a car! Not to mention access to your own freedom. They won't be complaining when any of them expect lifts or whatever. :)

And to be honest, while mods are great if you can afford them, insurance companies will charge you dearly at 18, and as mentioned above, if you don't declare them they won't cover you in an accident, and you're paying for nothing!

lower it and put nice wheels on it

If it's not stupidly quick anyway having an automatic can't be that bad, probably just makes for a more relaxing drive! I'd say lower it and get some nice wheels (if insurance allows ofc) admiral were decent for me with modifications on my 9n. Mine looked like this IMG-20130711-007561373570298524_zpsa3e2c
