Hay I have a mk2f saloon and wanting to put a bigger and more reliable engine in it has anyone got any suggestion ?

Depends what you've already got..

A G40 engine is probably the most powerful engine you'll get in there without going completely nuts. The reliability of it will depend on a few factors:

-How well it's been looked after.

-How well the engine conversion is done.

-State of tune.

Ok cool It's registered as a 1l but is a 1.3 someone don't that engine change before me I was thinking of g40 or 1.6 16v

And I've done all levels of automotives so I'm not shy with tools

Why not stick a 1.8t or is it to big dimension wise or a 6n 1.4 16v

It depends how much work you are happy doing, in terms of 1.8t, you will need to remake the chassis legs because the polos too small for it. If you're happy to do that though the skys the limit. ABF, VR6 etc would be options then.

Otherwise basically any short block will fit without chopping at the car and on standard 2f mounts, everything below:

Plug and play:

-GT (3F) 75bhp

-G40 (PY) 112bhp (?)

Would need the looms adapting, parts adapting etc and a mix of components:

-1.4 16v (AFH) 100bhp

-1.6 16v (AVY?) 125bhp?

-1.4 8v (ABD)

-1.6 8v

Adding to this, any of the above four can be fitted on carbs with a mk2 loom. The 8v blocks can be fitted to the GT head and injection system for added torque on a plug and play conversion.
