Coming up to that time of year I'll actully be needing to use the heated rear window

I only have 2 working on my screen :(

I've seen a 'pen' repair stick, but it's expensive for what it is.

Has anybody had anyluck with these or is there a alternative?

This is as far as my 'winter prep' goes !

Frost sell them which is normally a pretty good barometer as to if somethings alright, brevet tried one though so I don't actually know.

I have successfully repaired a HRW with the conductive paint many years ago, where you identify the breaks in the tracks, carefully scrape the ends of the breaks to ensure the conductive paint makes good contact with the tracks

While this topic is open, does anybody know what the problem could be if my rear window heater appears to just do nothing? Could it just be a connection problem?

Have you started with the basics, like the fuse? if that's OK then check the terminals on the glass are firmly connected, and if you have a multimeter and see if you have power to the screen,

I'm pretty sure I checked the fuse and it was fine. The light on the switch doesn't come on, I know that much.

The ON light should come ON regardless of the actual rear screen, so if it doesn't, then either there is no power to the switch (fuse #9 20A early <97 or #25 20A later >97 ) or the internal contacts in the switch are not making the circuit

I figured it might be switch or fuse related, as even if no power reached the window the light should come on if it reached the switch. I'll start there then!

Finally done somthing about this this morning... It was more like a tub of nail varnish, i masked the lines so it goes on stealthy... Results tommorow morning !

In case anyone was wondering how I got on with this, it turns out my problem was that my battery was so naff that it just didn't have the juice to power the window!

this is exactly what i need to do, take some decent pics and put a how to together for other people in the future

Good idea with the masking tape, after ruining my heated window at 17, i had a go repairing it using the same stuff, the little template wasn't neat enough and the rear window ended up looking terrible. With only a couple working i ended up scraping it off for a show!

I'm currently looking at getting a new rear window purely for the use of a heated window.

I'm definitely noticing the good side of mine working again!

Yeah the template wasn't even used, I needed multiple ! The repairs are visable from the outside as little silver bits

Not had a misted window since so I still don't know if it worked !!
