*Help* How to smooth plastic bumpers?

Featured Replies

Is anyone able to give me a guide on how to smooth plastic bumpers? (With pictures if possible)

Been seeing quite a few MK3 Polo's with colour coded bumpers and my god they look sweet!

Ah sorry, as in removing the texture so they can be sprayed!

work down the grades of sandpaper till it's smooth then use plastic primer then paint

I've just smoothed the texture out of my engine cover, took fucking ages!

I used a electric sander which probably saved a lot of time. I'd say start on 180+ grit, I used 80 grit and it just scratched the hell out of it! Make sure you sand every single bit of texture out before you paint because I ended up painting my engine cover 3 times before I was happy.

Nothing worse than wet sanding out what you think is orange peel and turns out to be texture
