Hi all. I recently had a passenger who kindly decided to pick and scratch at the door handle. So it now looks unsightly. Can I repaint them? If so, what do you recommend? I'm quite patient and good with that kind of stuff. I got some really scuffed Alloys that I done myself after being quoted £47 a wheel and they looked amazing after I had done them. I should change careers maybe. Back on topic, I did look in FAQ and other posts but I am on my phone and it doesn't let me see some pages. Thanks.

I got super cheap primer and matt black paint (came out satin/semi-gloss) paint from poundland when I did my handles on my 6n2. Came out well and still looked as good as new when I sold the car a year later. Just got the rubbery stuff off and sanded them lightly the painted.

The rubbery stuff can be a pain in the but to get off though.

Be careful taking them off though they're made out of the shittest plastic in the world and will snap especially on the bottom (both of mine did even when being careful)

So its not super special paint? I will just get the bugger who started peeling it off to finish the job. Thanks.

No just used any paint. Could use plastidip for a rubbery finish but it won't look the same as before and will end up doing the same thing again

I wonder if it would look stupid if I done it a different colour.

Seen a few people do them a different colour and it looks okay. Would probably look into vinyl wrap and see if you find a colour/pattern you like. The door handles are a pretty easy thing to vinyl wrap (providing its only the insert you need to).

If I had the money I would do my car bright orange. But its blue. Dammit. I will look into it more. If its engine problem is fixed that is.
