It's been confirmed, that in mid Jan I will be the proud owner of 'Peggy' the Polo Coupe CL Catalyst for the great price of £200 with MOT!!!

She's a 1991 mk2(facelift) cl coupe. With the NZ multipoint injection engine and four speed box!

So as I'm getting the car in Jan, I thought it would be rude not to start stockpiling stuff for it!

So be of posted to me 2mrw is a set of GT (Rev counter) clocks, and a GT steering wheel, courtesy of a great person on club polo, £30 posted for the lot! Just check Ebay to see how cheap that is

Also tracked down a company on German eBay that do a chip for the NZ (rare as hens teeth!) so that along with decat should see around 70 BHP hopefully!

Oh and got carried away with photoshop to see what she'd look like rust free with clear indicators and new boots!

I'm kinda going down exactly the same lines of my last Mk2f coupe (now owned by bryansnales on the Dubgeneration.co.uk forum).

Basically turning it into a GT style but without the body kit. So BBS RA's or G40/G60 steelies, G40 smoked rear lights, G40 clear indicators, GT steering wheel, GT clocks, lows, chip, GT cam, exhaust. Simples!

Then squeeze as much Bhp outta the old girl and maybe drive the 4 speeder to Worthesee 2016! (Can't make next year unfortunately)

4 speed on a NZ? That's odd? NZ is a 1.3 and I was led to believe that all 1.3's had a 5 speed 'box.

'poloace' on here used to produce NZ chips - not too rare mind you but he has finished trading with us - there should be some chips floating around though -good to see you've got one sorted. Personally i'd sack off the decat and chuck a 4 branch on!

Do some research on the NZ - they're a lot more tuneable compared to the 1.3 SPI - Mark_Crox had a LHD mk2 coupe with an NZ and I saw it on the RR at the Polo Show a few years ago and it got a decent figure compared to book figures. (His was standard as well!)

GT Cam is a good upgrade for the NZ.

I have some Hella clear indicators as well. PM me if necessary.

Yeah i thought all 1.3's were 5 speed, but after some digging into polo history books, turns out on th early ones it was an optional extra! lol!

Did try poloace, but now sourced a chip from german ebay , your right about the 4 branch. Parkers quotes a power of 55bhp for the NZ, but they did a decat version too (non european i think) which had 64bhp, so if i ditch the cat, get a chip and cam should be looking 70+bhp :-)

Been doing a bit of 'Surfing' around, and managed randomly to come across exact reproductions of the fading VW side stickers! So can now take the old ones off to do the rust repairs

Also found another polo with the same stickers, must have been a Vw dealers special edition or something.

Hopefully mine will look something like this once its tarted up

So getting carried away now, as I don't even have the car yet! But got these made up

Was in Aldi and spotted this for £34.99!

Had to have it for that price! Bluetooth deckless (no cd) car stereo with music streaming, calls, SD card slot, aux in and USB!! Also cause it's deckless it's only half the depth of a normal stereo so wiring and fitting should be a doddle (none of that swearing trying to tuck wires into the dash space!)

Poss gonna grab a set of Maxxis 185/50/14 tyres as I've found a set of 4 for £215 delivered brand new! Seems like a good deal to me

Trip to Bedford this morning to get my new (old) BBS RA's 14x6j. Think I've already sold the current tyres on them, and also gonna trade a can of WD40 for a spare 30k 4 speed polo coupe gearbox! Awesome!

Just need to wire brush these and fine sandpaper them then decide whether to do a temporary silver spray paint finish, Polish them (which may take months!) or save up to get them done at Aerocoat?.....

.......so decided to try the hand polishing route! (For the rims not the centres, gonna paint those!). My god it takes a while, but considering I've just spent an hour and a bit, I'm pretty chuffed! Not sure what's best to protect them though?....some kind of rim wax?....

So after a trip to wilkinsons to get more supplies, it was back to sanding and polishing! Distinct lack of fingertips now!

Just gotta get some silver spray for the centres. Wanna get these done by XMAS hopefully
