Might have found a mk4 golf, just need to sell Peggy to get the cash back gonna take her for another spin over the weekend and do some rust treatment on the more major parts. Gonna leave wings for new owner to prep/spray as I'll include all the stuff.

Picking up mk4 Gti 1.8t 20v tommorow, so Peggy is now reduced in price. £950ono. Done spark plugs today, and basic rust treatment/primer (not great but better than leaving rust to the elements!)

Got golf. Need to sell Peggy to recoup some cash (gonna lose a lot but gotta suck it up, you win some, you lose some)

I mean the value of the parts, how rude it may sound, the parts are second hand, so you are to bound to get a too little amount of cash for it.

Even if you start taking Peggy apart, you will sell the goodie bits quite fast, while taking ages for the rest of the parts to be sold..

I am sure there are better deals to be found for insuring a 20 odd year polo, so i am sure you can save some money there.

Try to find a way to keep her as a second car, fix all the things you can do yourself, without buying and replacing anything that isn broken.

Just take her for a cruise once in a while.

Seems like a lot of money at the moment, but i am sure the wallet will survive and escape going to IC.

the amount of money will be long forgotten, when in a year or so, you take the family to town to get a icecream and just have a drive.

I like your thinking Martin , but afraid she's gotta go. Want her to go to a good home where someone has the time to get her properly sorted out. She could fairly easily be an awesome car, but truth be told I haven't got the time any more. I will regret it in sure (like I regret selling my 1 owner mk1 scirocco and G60 corrado & mk2 small bumper campaign mk2 golf) but things change. Been doing vw's since 1998 and doubt I'll ever change but need a family friendly car at the moment

Lol! Drove all the way past stone henge to get a replacement drivers seat for it (after I wasn't happy with bolster repair), so would be asking at least £150 for them.

But I'm not breaking it anyway, promised the previous owner I would get pictures once it's done

And sorted the rattling exhaust. Now sweet as a nut
