Ash's autograss build

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I'm starting a new Autograss stock hatch build and have managed to pick up this old girl as a donor car. Car is being built by Ady Bennet in Derby, can't wait to get her home.

The class is pretty simple. Any 1.6 8v engine from the same marque can be put in with very ltd mods.

Manifolds must be kept stock but exhaust from the downpipe back and induction are free.

Strutbraces are allowed but must be non adjustable.

Shocks and springs can be changed but must fit on the original mounts.

There are a few other small bits that I'll do as I go along and I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions.

The car is at the builders at the moment getting prepped for the rol cage to go in so will hopefully get some progress pics up soon.

Not this season. I'll see how it goes with the 1.4

If it's really bad I'll put a 1.6 in next winter. Unless I can get the cash together for a new engine before then but most of the budget has gone on building this year

All finished. First meeting done. Car handles well but have some rough running issues with the engine to clear up. Will be changing the plugs, dizzy, and rotor arm to see if that helps.

Nice hows does it go in stockhatch

Well I haven't had it singing on all cylinders in a race yet so not 100% sure yet. Was half a lap down with a sick engine.
