6n how to line up an electric window help

Featured Replies

Hi I have just replaced my clips and clamps on my polo 6n 3 door passenger side

Bit I can't seem to get it straight ie to fix it up with the clamps so it will go up and down smoothly

Is there a technique ie tighten them at the top or bottom ?

Please advise
OK sweet I'll give it a try would you recommend some kind of lubricant in the runners also?

Yes, I used standard axle grease but not too much !

I seem to recall the same thing, up to the top then tighten down. I would make sure the rubber pads are clean, same with the area on the window so the rubber can move to where it needs to go and not stuck in the old position. I remember using fairy liquid on the rubbers so they moved easier. Then go up and down a few times, and adjust as necessary.

Also as the window is out you could always take the whole rubber out, then flip the seal inside out and clean then lubricate it. I remember reading somewhere about Ptfe lube or a white grease as the best thing to use? Honestly can't remember what I used. I guess it's true, alcohol does melt your brain cells :).
