Tax - 12 months, however due to new and awkward tax laws this unfortunately cannot be sold with the vehicle, however if it's possible I am more than happy to leave it on for a few days after sale/collection if it makes it easier for the new owner to drive it home etc.

LOCATION : Hemsworth, West Yorkshire

This particular model comes with the 1.0 FIRE engine, just had a service including oil and oil filter, a new air filter and new engine coolant and new front and rear wiper blades so it's ready to go for the winter as a daily driver, it runs perfectly, it's a manual choke and has never failed to start. The engine pulls well, it's strong, reliable, and extremely good on fuel which seems to last forever. There's no overheating, no misfiring and no hesitancy either when driving long distance or stood in heavy traffic, it starts first turn of the key even in the colder weather, as you would expect from a car with only 29,000 miles from new. The gearbox and clutch are in fine working order, gears select correctly without any difficulty and the clutch is strong with correct biting point. On the road driving it, it tracks straight, the steering is light but positive, you may well forget its 26 years old this month! The brakes are all in good order, it stops well and in a straight line, no pulling to either side. The suspension is standard and all in top order, so it gives a decent ride quality and the handling is great, it's really pleasant and easy to drive.

History

The car comes with it's original JCT600 dealer pack, which includes it's service record booklet with 8 dealer stamps. Also included in the pack is the orignal warranty booklet, FIAT service guide, accessories form and 'Blue Plan' insurance scheme that it had from new.

There's the original invoice for purchase dated 13-12-1988, to it's original owner which shows new the car cost exactly £5710.59, the only additional extra chosen was a locking fuel cap at a cost of £5.75

There's various invoices for parts and labour it had over the years, it's original v5 form, receipts for carb maintenance etc and various service items.

There's every single MOT test certificate for the car from new, which backs up the mileage of 29k miles, the current MOT it passed without a single advisory needed.

It still has it's dealer plates on, in perfect condition, no fading or cracks etc.

The car even has it's original JCT600 keyring given by the dealership when new all the way back from '88! Also included is a Haynes service and repair manual.

Exterior

As you can see from the pictures, this particular example is in really good condition, not just for its age but just very good condition even compared to some much newer cars, it's auite annoying when adverts say 'Good condition for ge' which to me basically says it's rubbish but it's old so is. This has to be one of the nicest, most original examples left in the country. The car gets a lot of attention when in the petrol station, or when out and about. It's never been in an accident, the shell is solid and has been fully undersealed. Underneath it needs no welding, it's strong and solid.

All the windows are in perfect condition, no cracks, stratches or leaks from the window seals. The wind up front windows operate correctly having recently been fitted with refurbished winding mechanisms, the rear windows and also in perfect working order and open fully on their hinges.

All the headlights, indicators and rear lights are in full working order, no cracks or damage. As you can see the car only has a single front wiper, like a Le Man racer as one of my friends said haha, the rear wiper and water jet are in full working order.

Interior

All the interior, again, is of original and completely standard spec. Please bear in mind that this Uno is quite sparce when it comes to gadgets, in fact it has none, although that can be a good thing as it's less to go wrong I suppose. It has manual windows, no power steering, no cigarette lighter (Please remember that, as if you are travelling a long way driving in home you will need to make sure your SatNav, if needed, is fully charged as you won't be able to plug it into a charge point in the car). The lay out of the light controls is a little bit different to most other cars, it's quite quirky but easy to get used to and it all works perfectly, as does all the switch gear. It has a moveable/removeable ash tray, the car hasn't been smoked in, but comes in handy for coins etc. The car only has a one speed heater, this is standard from factory, it works well at demisting the car and keeping you warm in the colder weather we're getting now, all the blowers work fine, so does the screen demister and heated rear screen. The rear seats fold down and also forward so there's plenty of room in the back if you ever need to carry or move some larger items about. The seats are supportive and comfortable even for taller drivers, I'm just over 6 foot tall and have plenty of head and leg room. The car has it's original radio cassette player, in fine working order and stil picks up radio stations with ease.

The car has it's parcel shelf, no holes or anything cut into it, in the boot it has a the vinyl type wheel well cover, and also it's scissor jack with handle and screwdriver.

Exterior

The pictures don't really do the car it's full justice, it's a really nice example with minimal wear, there are a few marks here and there but absolutely nothing serious and nothing that detracts from making this car look great. This is in my opinion the nicest colour for a standard Uno to be in, it's not flashy or in your face, it's retro and suits the car perfectly.

All the panels and trim are original, never needed any replacements or repairs, The steel wheels were recently refurbed however, and they look fantastic.

Negative points

As with all or most cars of this age, it does have a few very minor points. Firstly, the front tyres are getting a bit low on tread, I've priced up replacements and for medium/premium brands they can be had for as little as £35 per corner, with new valves, fitting and balancing. I changed the front passenger side one for the spare as it has much more tread left, however the rim wasn't refurbed like the other four rims so isn't as fresh looking. The body is in really good condition but being nearly 30 years old it does have a couple of marks here and there, some marks on the bumpers from previous owners, really nothing to worry about though, there's nothing serious as such, just a few age related marks. Other than that the car is fine and mechanically spot on.

All in all it's super reliable car and really cheap to run on petrol, insurance and road tax. Would make an ideal learner or first car, or retro daily driver.

PRICE £850 ono, I might be interested in a swap, always worth a try! However I would much prefer cash.
