I watched a documentary the other week that said 13 inches was too big in most cases. Don't think they were on about wheels though.....

For what?

Ah crap

' is feet, " is inches. You don't want 13-foot wheels

I assume you've got a GTI 6n2 which seem to favour mostly 14s and 15s, and the TDI can take 13s so I'd guess they'd be fine... but why though? Bigger is better :D

Just don't put spinners on them ;)

Ay, I'd get floaters if I could afford them

WTF are floaters? Too scared to type that into Google!

13" inch wheels with any vaguely low profile or stretch tyres (which are so common/popular) for any polo are always the wrong size wheel, in terms of rolling radius.

In-terms of looks, is subjective. Lots of people like 13"

Floaters are the opposite of spinners, they stay in one position even when the wheels are turning like the rolls royce wheels do. Cheapest sets start at about £700 xD

Floaters are what they have on donk cars I'm guessing

Floaters have a very fitting name because they're shit, also 13's are always good

The Rolls Royce Phantom has floaters, if Rolls Royce approve then so do I

They only do it with the badge of the wheel don't they? I'll admit that is cool and a nice little feature on a car that costs more than a house.

But I don't think I'd spend £700+ on a set of wheels that look like they dont move.

Wheels go round when you're moving and don't when you're not moving, basic physics, why try to make them look like they are doing something they are not?

Anyway suppose it is time to answer this thread properly.

13" wheels on a mk1-3 Polo are perfect, Stick on a set of 175/60/13 tyres and you have a perfect balance of contact patch, low-ish sidewall and standard rolling radius.

On a mk4 or 5 Polo (6n + 6n2) 13s fit (assuming none 16v or GTI) but they need bigger tyres to be the correct rolling radius so they can look a bit shit if you do that. Really with them you want 14s or 15s.
