Hi guys, I'm putting in my new rear seats but having a little trouble removing the old ones. I clipped out the bench no problem of course and managed to move the clips near to each of the windows but the part next to the 60/40 split has me stumped. I've looked online but I can't figure out what to do with the below. The metal holding it in doesn't sound like what I've read online (U shaped washer type thing) and it looks like the black round metal part on the seat actually slides into this bit. It might just slide out with a bit of force but I don't want to break it.

Has anyone else seen it like this and should I just pull it out or is there a knack to it?

You just need to pull the clips in red out, then the pins on the backrest will come out of the bracket

Thanks Nige, will they pry off if I take a flathead to them or lift up in some way? They seem pretty stiff.

Yes just get a screwdriver under them and lever up, or get some molegrips and pull, you might find it a bit easier if at the same time you push the seatback towards the centre, but they will just pull out, don't be afraid !! use the force !!

Presuming they will clip on the same when the new seats are in tomorrow morning and then I'll have some nice new seats in the back! I offered up the old seats on here but sadly no takers (they're in pretty decent condition) so I guess they'll be coming with me to the tip tomorrow which is a shame!

Yep, just push them down and they should just click into position.

Not much of a market for standard 6N seats, everyone wants Valver or leathers ones, mine also ended in the local tip

David (caretaker) is wealth of good info and well explained, like myself we were weaned on very basic cars but the basics of the four cycle engine hasn't changed ( suck, squeeze, bang, blow) it's just become computer controlled!! like everything in todays world
