I would start by taking off your steering wheel and checking all of the connections inside the wheel. It's probably nothing that complicated, maybe just a stripped wire making contact with the other and completing the circuit when you turn the wheel. I'd recommend just wrapping all the connections in electrical tape and see what happens.

Mat is almost certainly correct.

The only poinbt I'd add is that the wiring may be damaged at a point you cant see when you remove the horn switch cover.

I'd suggest the wires feeding the horn switch are flexed the most deeper in side the steering wheel. As these wires are twisted every time the wheel is turned, it seems quite likley the insulation may have failed (so the wires short when wound in one direction).

If possible, replace the wiring from the switch through the wheel - all the way back to where the wire no longer moves.

If you're keeping the car for some time, use cable with silicone insulation and a (many) stranded conductor (for excellent flexibility and) to avoid further failiures.

Mine did this so I just disconnected it :/ I then changed the steering wheel to a gt wheel and it stopped so I'd deffo check the steering wheel area horn contacts.

Cheers guys. What kind of tools will I need to take the steering wheel off? Don't want to take half my steering wheel apart to not have the correct tools.

Mine needs fingernails and a 24mm socket.
