Your grey G looks like a special edition G40 that Volkswagen could have released themselves rather than a heavily modified car. Suits it perfectly.

Cheers dude! - Difficult question! I can't decide between them which is the best drive - it probably sounds a bit odd but they're very different cars. The grey one is obviously the fastest of the two, it also handles, stops and gets its power down better because of the modifications made. Its also noisier as well as a fairly harsh ride on bumpy/poor road surfaces.

The bog standard blue one is a much more refined ride, its a lot quieter, less frantic and generally a better place to be when in traffic or on a longer journey. Still reasonably quick too even in standard trim. Maybe I'm showing my age here but I value the traits of the standard car just as highly as the modified one!

I feel most fortunate to be in either car.

Cheers dude! The aluminium boost pipe came with the intercooler from PSD as did the outlet elbow - its from a Golf Rallye.

I'd planned to sort out the worn gear stick mechanism last year, but never got round to it. Finally got my act together and got on it!

Mechanism removed and dismantled -

VW repair kit for the bottom of the gear lever -

Bush that the gear stick to gear box shaft goes through -

Should feel as good as the one on my other car when it all goes back in!

Got this MOT'd today - a measly 1025 miles done since the last one.

It was easily the tiniest car there!

Hung around for a car based chat while it was being done.

I plan on getting a bit more use out of it this year!

Planning a freshening up of the engine and bay. The engine was built in 2007/8 and its paint seems to be giving up.

Old school air freshener finally going in - had this for ages!

Took advantage of a nice day and gave this its first clean since October. Didn't look too bad to be honest but there was a lot of crap on it!

Gave this a good look-over the other day - all is in order so no good reason not to take it to some shows this Summer. Hopefully be at Polo Social if I play my cards right!

Me too! I've only been to two shows with this since it was built in 2012.

Another milestone clicked by on the way home too -

It would appear that I've been driving this around with the king lead hanging off the coil! This is the state of the lead -

The terminal on the coil is similarly frazzed, somehow it still ran perfectly though?

I only noticed the disconnected lead when checking the oil!

New coil off eBay, and a spare king lead fitted, and its all in order again.
