Cheers bud! I was properly cheesed off after the crash, but ended up with a better car, so it was well worth all the extra work done.

Thanks for the ignition stuff repair came in the form of a puddle of gearbox oil on the garage floor. What was left in there was drained, then the knackered selector shaft seal was replaced - it was all going well until the time came to refill the gearbox. The fill/level plug would not come out! I must have overtightened it in the past, as it was FT and ended up rounded. As there was no oil in the box, I couldn't drive it to my unit and get it on a ramp, so desperation set in. The only other means of getting oil in there is through the speedo drive hole, so the speedo drive came out leaving me with a tiny hole to fill it through. A piece of plastic fuel pipe and a little funnel were used for delivery - 3 litres needed to go in, and each litre took 40 minutes to unload through the skinny pipe. That's a long time! It's done now anyway, check out the comedy rig cobbled together to avoid holding the funnel while the oil trickled in!

Normal service now resumed.

Thought I'd already chipped in on this - looks fantastic, suits the colour coded bumpers really well too.

Should of taken one of the bolts out the front of the gear box 1 of 3 don't take all out and you can fill through thier in about 5 mins

Those holes are smaller than the speedo drive. As I didn't have anything with which to pump the oil in, it had to be done by gravity. It would have been a much faster job if I was at my unit with all my gear!

Dug this out again today, thankfully a dry garage floor suggests that it's still oil tight!

The battery was flat the other day from lack of use - this has been remedied this week with lots of use! Really should try and make the time to use it more.

Seen here being dwarfed by a Golf at Halfords!

It was kept under 3k with no boost for 500 miles as the charger was freshly rebuilt (seemed like a bit of a chore at the time!) then another 500 with a few whiffs of boost, gradually building up boost useage, but keeping the revs below 5k until it was mapped.

Finally got round to replacing the rounded gearbox level plug today, the ride out afterwards put a grin on my grille, which was very welcome after a few days of illness.

I want it.

This has been dormant for a while :( Noticed the odometer had a lot of 1s on it when I got it out for a drive this morning!
