6n2 coilovers

Featured Replies

Hey peeps

I just got a set of jom coilovers for my 6n2 and was about to fit them when I saw the two black plastic caps covering in the engine bay covering the top mount .

Anyway I was wondering if I need to remove them or do I just unscrew the 3 bolts and drop the unit out. If anyone has a step by step to fitting the coilovers to a 6n2 aswell that would be great thanks .

They are just a cover pop them off.

Coilover change:

Wheels off.

Unclip brake pipes from little clips.

Undo 2x 18mm nuts and pull bolts out.

Undo 3x 13mm bolts at top (ideally someone else or with one hand hold the strut so it doesn't drop)

Pull strut out.

Refitting is reversal of removal.

If your new coilovers don't have top mounts then spring compress old springs, remove top mounts and fit to yours.

Rears:

Wheels off.

1x 16mm nut and bolt underneath.

Inside boot remove parcel shelf, and then parcel shelf supports (2x T20 screws then push up to pop out)

Remove gay dome boots.

Undo 16mm but and remove with washer/spacer.

Undo next 16mm but with rubber mount and the strut will fail out.

Again refit is reverse.

Hope this helps

Is this process generally the same for the 6n? I should be doing mine next week, seems fairly straight forward.
