New Beast

While I'm waiting for my loon to be sorted I brought myself a new car. needs a little work like an engine swap but a new engine was supplied. it's currently a 1.4 16v AUA body work pretty mint tiny bit of rust in rear arch which will be treated. and passenger window don't work. and has been lowered but I but swapping that.

The engine supplied is another 1.4 16v just to get it up and running. The currently one drives but is just about to put a piston through the block bottom end has gone.

I have a spare engine soon for spares and repairs if anyone is interested?

Their is just something about estates that I find cool don't know what it is.

Plans:

Going to put on these alloys from my brothers motor and coilovers.

And just got a seat Ibiza with a vr6 in it with spare block and heads but the body is trash so the engine might find it's way into this estate.

Banded steels and few little touches black wing mirrors and roof.

May as well put the VR6 in it whilst you're doing engine work

I love the estates. The 6ns had it all! Van, estate, saloon, hatchback and nearly a convertible (open air).

I love the colour too just different.

The VR6 is coming later need to rebuild the vr6 first new rings chains etc . going to get this running and tidy.

This will be my third 6n had a Black 1.6 sold and still going strong with 140000 on the clock. and currently selling my open air was nice down south with the sun out.

I've seen a few Facebook groups I need to join, a lad who I pick up an engine from Watford is converting a 1979 derby into a 1600 air-cooled told me of a few groups he get parts from

The spare engine is in and running just need to run it up get the oil running around as the tappet sound noisy and refill the power steering fluid and put the front end back on.

Hopefully the silver one will sell soon.

Getting it back together

Spare 1.4 16v in was provided was a automatic golf so have to swap over everything.got it running but exhaust need sorting as studs have broken and was leaking so a bit high now.

Everything works fan cuts in need to swap over the heater pipes as got them back to front as i have no heater

Got it back yesterday as the moving out the unit

1. Few thing still need sorting exhaust stud snapped so welded up the exhaust still leaking and blowing slightly;
2. Front camber on passenger shock, need to correct;
3. front passenger indicator bracket broken so need to get another;
4. Change the rear light to the smoked one;
5. Get door painted;

After a quick wash

Inside sticker bombed the vent as they had some material glued on removed it but the plastic was discoloured because of the glue.

It's having another makeover soon, either keep the skulls and re-done the square into honeycomb or a compete graffiti job.

Then considering engine options at the moment it's a standard 1.4.16v aua with a GT gearbox as the other had a leak and the GT is spare until my other project get going again.with the little wheels and the gearbox it accelerates quick and at 70 mph it's doing 4500rpm.

 

I do have spare VR6 lumps but the rebuild cost is about £800 thats all new internal shells bearing chain gaskets.

 

or i have a fresh 1.3 GT on twin carbs for another project
