H&R is considered the best kit for the MK2. Nice ride without being too harsh. Many people run them.

I have KWs on mine, though I haven't driven the car too much on them, it did feel nice and looked good (you can find my polo in the build thread section. It's a Monaco Blue Saloon). It was a 60/60 mind but iirc the rears were adjustable.
