1.6 8v AEE engine with extras

Featured Replies

I am thinking of selling this engine as I don't have the space to keep it as a spare unfortunately.

This was removed from an early 6n which only covered around 65k miles an was scrapped because shell was rusty.

It's been rebuilt as I planned to use this long term but have changed my plans.

Head has been rebuilt with all new seals including good quality valve stem seal which are problematic. Also the valve seats had a re grind. I believe it was a three angle job? But will check. Head was also thoroughly cleaned.

Crank shaft, rod and Pistons were all checked and were in great condition almost no wear at all.

New piston rings were fitted and the bores were honed

New big end bearings, main bearing shells and thrust washers fitted. All good quality German items, not cheap ones.

Block was run through the parts washer about 6 times, so the insides are totally gunk free.

Pretty much everything that could be changed has been changed. Yes this was totally un necessary but I get really bored and figured I'd use it for a few months to justify it but that hasn't happened and I doubt it will.

Engine will be supplied with inlet manifold, fuel rail throttle body etc, pretty much everything you will need.

This sale also includes a drilled airbox (more noise) and also a stainless steel 421 manifold (pretty sure it's a race land one) which is in great shape. I also have 2 engine bay lots which have been simplified so can help if fitting into an earlier car.

Also included is the polished rocker cover, which looks nice.

Engine is currently in the car and running, it runs very well. It will be coming out before end of week to start on engine conversion so I can make a video recording of it starting from cold etc.

I'm located in kent tn29 postcode, but I am able to bring this to North London or Bedford/Luton area

I am looking for £225 including everything - that's basically a new engine, with nice shiny bits isn't hat what everybody wants?

Open to offer, but please no insults this has cost me more then that already. I appreciate I won't get back what I paid but I can't really keep this outside as it will be ruined.
