Mk1/Early mk2 Polo > Late Thermostat Housing Conversion Sandwich plate

Featured Replies

Bit of a unique thing to offer for sale as I can't imagine many people will want this, but I'm offering it anyway in case it helps someone out.

You can fit this to your early mechanical head engine if you want to convert it to use a later plastic thermostat housing, if converting to GT injection or simply want a more modern cooling system for whatever reason. The late plastic thermostat housing has the same bolt spacing as the early one, but the hole which the water runs through is a different shape and overlaps the mounting face on the head, which would result in a massive coolant leak. Fitting this plate means there is no gaps where coolant could leak out as it matches both shapes. It's cut on a water jet from 6mm aluminium so you can rely on its accuracy and neatness.
