Good runner, small Water and oil leak, but nothing serious, haven't had to top up any fluids in 700 miles.

They did not make carbed engines in 1991, SPI maybe?

In the golf they were carb engines until pretty much the mk3 (excluding Gti models)

No VW with cat was delivered without efi

Doesn't have a cat. And mk2 golf GTI (digifant)

Polos had cats and EFI, only top golfs had injection..

Mk2 golf 1.3 engine had a pierburg 2e3 carb. Hence the pancake air box :)

I know the POLOS have EFI and catylitic converters from 1990 onwards. The GOLF did not get a catylitic converter till 1992 when they were mandatory. This engine is from a GOLF. bit odd adding a golf engine to club polo but it will fit into a polo 86c and would be a nice upgrade for a wheezy old 1.0 carb

I believe it to be a slightly different engine code. Come to South Wales and get the head and bottom end for £30! Still in the car. Was running a few hours ago until I removed the carb and dizzy for postage..
