So got an insurance quote through a specialist company for 600 with the turbo conversion and everything else declared, sceems fair but I'm gonna hunt around abit,

I've plumbed in the dump valve, and a few other bits including this boost reference from the top boost pipe to the fpr, it's since got covered in chemical metel after being bolted down so it dosent leak .

Lots to do today! Finishing off my throttle cable bracket, (old turbo actuator bracket cut and bent and bolted to the intake manifold so it works perfectly with carb) wiring in fuel pumps to relay if I have enough energy, and stripping front hubs down

really need to crack on with this got a deadline for the second weekend of june for an autsolo and then the polo social with any luck :)

Also how did you split the headlights to joey mod them if you don't mind me asking?

The images have gone but you get the idea.

Remember to take off the plastic frame before you cook them.

Also, people have reported that the reflective backing has been peeling off when they have removed the masking tape. I would just use brush on paint rather than aerosol. No one will see the brush strokes behind the glass.

I'd carbon fibre wrap them ( sticker ) instead of painting and yes the reflective stuff does start to come off if you mask it,

I used a heat gun around the edge as my girlfriend would kill me if I put them in the oven lol

I used a flat blade screw driver to seperate them ( the lens around the edge like to crack so be carful) , Masked and painted, wish I'd used a black sticker, Re stuck them using tiger seal (black pu sealant ) , I masking taped the lenses on around the outside and kept them upside down on a desk all night with weight on them, and I've had no leaks or misting inside atall so they've sealed well.

I used plastic primer and a little Matt black spray

So today, I wired up my fuel pumps, now run off the key and not the ecu :) refitted my horn, and started refitting and cleaning the interior.

Done loads today, fitted new front shocks, poly Tcas new top mounts, cleaned and refitted my arb blocks :)

I spent half an hour on the phone to paypal, and my paypal is working again ( been without for about a month) so I've finally purchased an aem wideband gauge, boost gauge, various stainless bolts and nuts and fabrication bits and bobs, and an exhaust adapter only an oil cooler and abit of welding left than it's first start and setup :)

So got some new exhaust studs and nuts and have started fitting everything

I've done loads over this weekend, fitter fpr, widebands arrived, boost gauge and oil pressure are wired up, on Wednesday the exhausts getting sorted and the oil return too, so not long now.

Air intake 90 pipe that attaches to my cone filter is off a ford ka lol, the dump valves from a compressor housing off and old rover (uses forge springs and diahframs), I did have a thought to just flip the exhaust flange round and run the exhaust straight out the bonnet but obviously I need to stick to the law lol

Have you got a video of how it sounds? You need to put it on rolling road see what it's making

its only got about 1-2 psi of boost when i wind the actuator out and nail the fueling and the timing ill get it rr then :)

It now has custom metel water pipes fitted, I took it for a test run at only 5 psi boost and wow I still have good fueling for possibly 8-10 before I'd have to re jet the carb, was going great until the oil return fitting snapped it's welds on the sump and sprayed about a litre of oil everywere haha new sump ordered and it's getting re welded stronger, desperate for my oil cooler to come lol

I'll certainly be taking a wee nosey at this at the social. It's an interesting wee project. I'm glad to hear its running ok.

Just ordered a new sump so I can take that to my welding friend to reposition the fitting and make it stronger happy days :)
