Ahh cool, just quite not sure how well they fit ;(

I feel the need to point out that the gaffer tape holding my arch trim on is only a temporary measure until I've fitted new wings and can bond them properly. Looks so crap. :P

My boost gauge is held in with gaffa tape haha need to sort it lol

Had a chat with the clubpolo legend that is tommo :D also I have just done 1000 miles now :) I'm gonna tweak the setup and then get it on the rollers next month.

Cant wait to see what its making

Sending my dizzy of to get it recurved and a twin pot canister to retard ignition when on boost, also fitting another carb, can't wait to get it on the rr :D

thought about the amethyst kit.

200 quid iirc, Max has it on his and i have the n/a version on mine.

Simple but effective system.

Yeah the aldon automotive amethyst kit is what you want!

I might price it up see how much it will cost, it runs pretty well on the mech dizzy 2bh.

Ported intake

I will have a spare turbo carb intake forsale in the near future :)

That's quite a difference in the port sizes. Have you matched them to the head?

  • Author

It's quite impressive how much it's been ported ( bought it like that) and no I havnt matched it yet although my head has had a mild porting diy job, this is just a spare intake not quite sure what to do with it, prob sell it or use it and sell mine, it was on tommos old car when it was rr at clubpolos rooling road day it was running 209 Bhp and 201 ft ibs :)

What a difference, is the original manifold off a 1043cc?

Kitchen work tops are handy :) disappointed there isn't at least 1 spanner in the cutlery draw though...

  • Author

The 1043 aau intake is tiny, same manifold heater ect just the bolt pattern on top is tiny, ports are tiny ect the manifold I'm running on my car I believe is a hg? Something like that originally for a pooberg carb, came of a late mk2 breadvan, and the one in the picture on the left I believe is a 1.3 aav inlet manifold,

if you notice the top picture the fitting that's screwed into the intake manifold I'm gonna drill as screw it Into my current intake I think as it's a perfect place fit a signal to the boost gauge.

The other half will never know anything ever happend in the kitchen....

This thing is far to quick now its scary quick how it pulls still more to do though :) got some bigger front brakes to go on soon, and afr is now spot on getting 13-14 on idle and 11-11.5 full throttle :D power delivery is smooth but has a kick to it allmost like a Powerband.

just got a brand new exhaust system and 2.5 inch not bad for £35 quid of ebay! :D its one of them twin tail pipe stainless jobbies, but I'm gonna cut the 2 pipes off and weld

1 pipe on so it looks like a ppp system lol

Awesome build.

Is the exhaust manifold a standard starlet one r aftermarket?

And any idea what the carb is from?

Thanks

  • Author

It's a stainless aftermarket manifold but both ends have been cut and welded to fit the polo head and a passat k03 flange welded on, the carbs abit of a secret I've researched how this could work for the past couple years, and like a few others on other forums and the Germans with boosted afhs ect I like to keep certain things a mystery 😂 haha

Do some more reaserch Into turbo carbs and you may recognise mine :)

how much boost is this thing running?

C/R still high?

  • Author

Yeah c/r is still the same, which gives good mpg of boost and it just drives like a normal polo until about 3 k and it then gives a hell of a kick lol only about 5psi but I'm changing the spring again so that should give me a few more psi of boost as the fueling is pretty good for a few more psi.

I actuley have finally broken something! I've been waiting for something to break and finally after 1800 miles of being turbocharged and a hard weekend of abuse, its split a servo hose 😜 back on the road in a couple days :)

Edited by Buxton

haha a servo hose split isnt too bad!

i wouldnt wind the boost up too much or id imadgine kaboom!

alot of work for 5psi worth of fart tho :/

lower the C/R and wind that girl up!
