Do valvers have an Anti-roll bar on the front, and if so, how does it attach?

would it be easy enough to bolt one on to my 8v

and to those that have driven both, does it affect the handling much? help it? make it worse on slower cars?

Yes all valvers have an ARB on the front, from memory the ARB bolts directly to the front wishbones and attaches to the car behind the engine and gearbox.

I would check your car doesn't have an ARB on the front already, I've owned a lot of 6ns and I believe my poverty spec 1.0 was the only one that didn't have an ARB.

If your car is heavily lowered I dare say you probably will not notice the difference between having an ARB and not having one. The only difference I noticed on the 1.0 I had was I could get it to sit lower at the front, or it seemed like that at the time.

The ARB is clamped onto the front subframe and connected to the wishbones by drop links The roll bar comes in different diameters 18~22mm the AFH uses a 20mm as standard

Thanks chaps, mine is a 99 1.4 8v and definately doesn't have a roll bar, I'm not very low so might have a look into, thought a little bit of extra stiffness would be good :)

Mine too didn't have it. Mines also a late 1.4 8v. I have seen 1.0 polos in the breakers yards with them fitted which led me to believe the previous owner had it removed due to smashing the crap out of a wishbone and figured they damaged it.

The car handled like crap through corners, and generally dealt with bumps badly. With a bar fitted and even with used bushing (new ones didn't arrive yet) the car handle SOO much better. You could actually take corners without having to almost completely stop, now you could chuck it into them and come out the other side.

I have a spare one I was literally going to weight in tomorrow, so if your interested let me know. I may even have the little metal brackets somewhere so would just need new bushes and links.
