So last week i managed to change the rear suspension in an hour easy stuff, but I am now having issues with the front.

I have tried to follow the guide that is pinned and had not luck.

So I can get as far as taking off the TCA bolt and get the ball joint half out of the clamp but no further. What am I missing here I'm using a crow bar and a flat head. I assume once this is out the rest is easy?

Please someone help as spent 3 hours in the rain this morning trying to get these out.

if its not been apart for years the ball join can be in there tight

id raise both sides off the ground , undo the arb mounts and inner arm mounts then you will have to try and hammer the arm to get the ball joint out

everything on the front is under huge pressure all the time and shifting it for the first time in years is always a job. take your time and do it safe. if you're wedging bars in there watch out for them flicking out as they will fly

Thanks for the response I will give it another go next week, just a pain how I can only get it half out on both sides. Will try and remove everything I can to make it easier as nothing has been seized so far. I also don't understand how the whole strut will just come off.

If it has not been apart for a while you are probably best taking everything off so you can grease everything and won't have issues next time.

I find if you drop the ARB from the front and loosen the nuts that holds it into the TCAs then that takes a lot of the pressure off.

If the bottom ball joint still wont come out then you're only other option is to remove the TCA from it's rear mount and then take the strut and TCA off the car as one. If you get to that you will probably find one tap with a hammer will free the ball joint from the strut as there is no strain on it then.

no doubt you have jacked the car up so that the other side of the suspension is loaded- this will move the antiroll up. to help you- jack both sides up and place axle stands both sides. this will unload the suspension and allow you to remove the strut from the balljoint easier. Or alternatively use spring clamps!

Remember to get the steering arm off first as this wont be easy to remove once strut is loose.
