My first car!

This is my 87' polo breadvan!!!!

When I bought the car it has 36,600 miles on the clock!!! It has been in and around Sheffield all its life. 2 elderly women owners and 2 vw enthusiasts owners who had it sat on their drive doing nothing and now me who intends to daily drive it when I pass my test

Since I can't drive it and its off of the road I decided to get as many jobs done as possibly could so when the time came I could be straight out onto the road!!

Since purchasing the car I have sprayed the stock steel wheels silver and am also in the process of spraying some engine bits

I planned to tidy up the body as it has a few niggles in places.

First job was removing the front bumper

(Wheel off for spraying)

This is what I am up to so far. Next job is to straighten and re-spray the front which will hopefully be done in the next few week

Best picture I have so far

Also if anyone can help with the colour it would be grateful appreciated

clean wheels make a huge difference to making a car look tidy. can't believe the milage is so low for an 86

Yeah I know ordered some centre caps which should make it look a lot better as well. I think it's only been to supermarket and back. The back seats look like they haven't been used!!

Always pleasing to see a breadvan in good nick. Hope you enjoy the next 36000 miles. Don't neglect the insides of the engine.

... and good luck with your driving test.

Not sure it counts as a Mk8 polo though.

A great choice for a first, so simple to work on. Do VWs run in the family? it does seem to be the way these thing happen! Good luck with your test and go carefully, these aren't the sturdiest of cars by a long way :)

Glad you like it [emoji4] was surprised when I found it with such low miles

What are your plans for it I'm not quite sure what to do with mine?

Nothing major for now but eventually I hope to lower it and get some nice wheels. Maybe bike carbs and a exhaust somewhere along the line. Looked at yours wouldn't have thought that those wheels would suit a bready but look bang on!!

Cheers bud need to lower abit more but having trouble with rubbing on the rear arches
