Pics of BBS RA's?

Featured Replies

I've just bought some BBS RA's quite cheaply that i'm almost done respraying and i'm going to buy some tyres for them. But i don't know what the best size to get is. They're 14x6 and my current wheels are 13's so just wondering if anyone had any pics/advice.

Cheers.

My 14" wheels on my 6n were running on 175/65r14 and they looked too big at times. I'm not sure about the arch sizes on the 2f, but that's just my experience of those tyres. :)

I'd go for 185/50/14, perfect size for a mk2f, same rolling radius as standard and a low enough profile to look good.

Yeah, the tyres that are currently on it are 185/60's and the tyres look quite big but i haven't test fitted them yet.

On another note, your from Falmouth? I live in Cornwall, just at Uni in cardiff!

I like 185/55/14, nice balance between meaty tyre but not too huge, they're a common size too.

I was wondering what the actual tyre size/rolling radius for my car was as the 13" wheels were on the car when i bought it and the speedo is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out.

But yeah i had read that they were a good size to go for!

What tyre size is on your 13s just now? Should be something close to the rolling radius of a 175/60/13.

I think anything bigger than standard looks huge on a Polo. 185/60/14 is a Golf tyre size and just looks well too big, 185/55/14 is a common size for the 6n Polo but again too big for a mk2f.

Yep, Falmouth local. :) Don't get many on here that are this far down or I'd try to organise some meets!

My 15" BBS RX's on my 6n now are 195/45/15 and it makes them basically the same in size as my 175/65/14's were. Speedo is about 4mph above the actual speed. On a 2f though I think I'd go for something a bit smaller, but too much profile can look silly.

I think they're 165/50/13 which is completely wrong and puts my speedo out by a fair bit.

I'm thinking 185/50/14 as you said before.
