So I've just popped a white backlight dial set into some GT clocks, but they are in kilometres per hour. The previous owner of the dials has marked up 30,40 & 70 mph with red tape, but is this enough to pass an MOT? If not I might have to invest in a sheet of letraset numbers to put on the dials?.......

That's the method they use on the cheap Chinese motorbikes, I'd also mark up 50 mph just so your covered for all the mandatory speed limits

KMPH is not a problem with the MOT test. the tester has the option to take the vehicles odometer reading in KM or Miles

many Japanese imports are in KMPH

I have some LHD cars which are kmh only - never had an issue

There is a really good work around for KMH clocks.

Its a little gearbox that fits on the end of the speedo cable.

Once fitted, the clocks read in MPH so all you do is change the KMH label to MPH without the need to change numbers or dials.

200mph speedo on a Polo is a bit optimistic
