Any mk3 cable should work, from what I've found they are all the same. But to be sure you're looking for part number 861721555A.

Or NZ engine/G40 cable (as I think all MPI's had same cable, but I may be wrong?)

Think mines got the wrong cable in. Part number is 868721555.

The adjuster sleeve and cable look in really good nick, but seems way to long, think it's that big loop that's causing the sticking pedal, as I oiled the throttle body and that works really easily by hand. Looks like I need to get a GT cable (seems a bigger to find one online, so think VW dealer might be the only option)

hmm, phoned up VW, and they stopped making them in 2011! they suggested vwheritage, but no joy on their website. Supposedly the mk2 carb ones are too short....hmmmmmm

looks like second hand is way to go

If anyone's got an MPI/GT cable lying around I'll bite your hand off for it

Might sound rediculous but have you considered making one ? Having the dimensions could prove useful in the future for others also if theirs fail on them

Pretty sure I have one, I'll fish it out tomorrow and PM you if so.

Just found this out the hard way, GT/MPI cables are definitely longer.

Any one got one or had any luck finding a dealer?
