Story: I bought this as a quick stop gap car 3 years ago after my KTM was stolen. I only intended having it for a month or two until I got another bike. I never got another bike. I kept this car and drove it daily up/ down the motorway (about 70miles/ day). Now the clutch is dead, my old dear wanted a new car, I bought her shitty old Almera for £350 and am using that as I'm now saving to buy a G40 conversion to stick in my black polo shell. The Ibiza has now sat for 2-3 weeks, I keep thinking I'll stick an ad on ebay but then forget, so here's my rubbish attempt at selling!

Good points: Cheap, new tyres, recent front brake disks/ pads (>£300 just for the discs, pads and fitting kit.), Goes like fuck, a bit quicker than a standard G40 but does 38mpg at worst and ~52mpg at best. Stability control, ABS, airbags, thatcham cat 1 as standard, Cupra interior, whacking great bit AP racing brakes (I've never driven a car with brakes as good as this, except the odd race car/ touring car ). Replaced a standard shitty expensive boost pipe elbow with a custom made, non-ballooning silicon pipe, never caused an issue in the ~14 months it's been on there.

Bad points: It's a chup Polo with a Seat badge. There's a ding in the bonnet, RR bumper corner, cracked RR reflector. Needs a clutch, the thrust bearing is knackered and doesn't like functioning. It was making noises for about 10k before It got really loud and I was struggling to change gear. I thought it may be the gearbox but it still shifts effortlessly and silently, doesn't pop out of gear, etc. I would be inclined to get an uprated clutch and flywheel and a >200BHP remap if I were to replace it. I think there's a worn engine mount, although I've owned the car for 3 years it's never changed at all, just catches the vin plate on the chassis leg from time to time. Air con clutch is gone in the pump (early pump style £50 apparently. I just opened the windows the past 3 years myself!

Price: £2k for hassle free sale, if it were mint I'd want 4k, but it isn't, so I don't. Go take a look about, the cheapest Cupra diesel I've ever seen was £2950. I will px/ swap for G40 stuff (perhaps you have a G40 project you can't be arsed with and fancy my Ibiza instead?). This is a bargain for someone with a free Saturday/ weekend and some enthusiasm.
