Jeremy Clarkson

Featured Replies

I'm sure you have all heard on the news that Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended from the BBC and as a result the last 3 episodes of Top Gear are unlikely to be shown.

I'm sure even on here there will be mixed opinions on him. I personally am a big fan of Jeremy and I'm pretty sure I've watched and read everything he has done.

There is a petition out asking to get him reinstated to the BBC. You can sign the petition here.

As I just put on Facebook, if they axe him they will lose one of their biggest rating shows that they have. In a way it's annoying because it'll show that if youre popular you can act like a tw*t and get away with it, but I would definitely miss Top Gear and wouldn't ever want it without him! He cracks me (and I imagine everyone else) up.

They'll never get rid of him and he knows it.

Top gear would die without him, he makes the show. Legend...the producer probably deserved a smack if he tried to smack him lol _ signed

I see it is almost at 500,000 now which is good.

The thing that annoys me is everyone is so focused on the negative. They keep going on about him using the 'n' word last year and that got him a final warning which is why this incident has suspended him.

But do they not think about the good work he does too? He does a lot of work for Help for Heroes which helps thousands of people. He has also done lots of documentaries for the BBC showing us some of the people that have made Britain great over the years.

its possible that clarkson is tired of topgear and is looking for an out

What exactly did he said?

Some more nazi jokes about germans, or what?

Here these news was also in the newspapers.

from wikipedia i know that he cannot shut the f... up with jokes about other countries.

What exactly did he said to let this happen now?

cheers

Christian

according to the radio earlier he tried to punch one of the producers

He allegedly punched an assistant producer when he discovered that, at the end of a days filming in Newcastle, no hot food had been provided for dinner.

I've seen that in a couple of the articles, who knows if it's the truth or not. I'm sure there's more to it than that, you don't just go from calm to throwing punched over something like that.

with all the crap that the BBC has hidden in the past, this is just complete crap.

top gear ftw :)

I dunno if anyone on here has ever been to a filming of a Top Gear episode, but I have, from what I remember the 1 hour episode you see on TV takes 5 hours to make. And that is just the studio part. So the outside filming of the cars etc. must take days. So after a whole day filming, probably without a break, you'd be annoyed too if someone just handed you a cold corn beef sandwich instead of a proper meal.

But there will be 2 sides to the story.

I completely agree with this. It's exactly the same as doing a shift without getting a break. If you've been filming all day, you're going to want to have something to eat at the end of it, and it's a bit out of line to not have that provided. This is why catering teams exist.

As I said, something must have blown out of proportion for alleged punches to have been thrown. We shall see!

lets not forget that it might have started with the issue of cold food but would have probably escalated into a full blown argument moments after. the media always make it sound as rediculous as possible, its how they blow up a story from being two people had a big argument and one punched another or tried to punch another..to, man punched producer because he got offered cold food.

I completely understand why Jeremy did it now. If I'd had a long hard day at uni and came home to my girlfiriend giving me a sandwich and not a hot meal I'd punch her in the face

I just spat my drink everywhere!

The guy is a prat. He's unnecessarily offensive and relies too much on the common denominator for his humour. The more Top Gear has grown, the more of a caricature he (and the other two) have become. I'm not one for political correctness as at all, but being purposefully offensive (such as the slope joke) is not the sort of comedy I expect from a man approaching 55. And his political views are taken straight from the UKIP manifesto. Stick to what you know, and talk about cars. Keep the politics to the pub Clarkson. When he's talking about cars he is very interesting and he is, despite the above complaints, entertaining. But like many who become famous, he seems to have lost his head a little and it seems no one is pulling him back to Earth. Top Gear wouldn't be the same without him, but I rarely watch it now anyway, so I can't say I'd be too bothered. When I watch the (endless) repeats on Dave, I find the old shows more entertaining as they were about the cars, not the 3 idiots.

And don't get me started on James May...

He's unquestionably Tory, that's how he stands. I'm also positive that he's a racist, bigoted, arsehole of a man. But on Top Gear I don't care, because the three of them are fantastic together. I much prefer the specials, and the challenges over anything else. One of my favourite episodes of recent series is when they did 80's hot hatches and had a mk2 golf, fiesta xr2 and a nova, because they were comedy gold!

Personally I think that should be made the club banner, in protest. ;)

He is a prat and he's an old man with racist views and he's in the stone ages socially, over time he has become more open of his views and ways and alsk holds it back less meaning he's in all sorts of trouble for things he's said. I won't hold it against him though,

he's a grumpy racist old man and despite it he is funny and people love him hence why the show has become more focused on his daft antics and the trio getting into mischief than solely on cars because there is a much bigger audience with all the added comedy.

He alone is one of the great things that happened to the BBC in my opinion and top gear would be worse off if he wasn't the face of it

  • 2 weeks later...

His contract is not going to be renewed RIP Top Gear :(

That's it folks, all done.
