6N2 Window Tinting?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

So looking to soon get my 6N2 windows a slight tint, no more than a 70%-60% on the back, not too sure if I'll do the fronts though.

But I'm just wondering how easy, or difficult it is to do yourself at home? I've seen rolls of the tint for pretty cheap, or pre-cut sheets to fit for a bit more expensive. Watching a few videos of it and it looks hard to do, so I'm thinking is it better to just pay a professional to do it? Although I've had 1 quote and I could buy around 6-8 rolls of tint for that price!

If I do go with a professional, does anyone know a good, cheap one up in the north west area?

Thanks!

I've done it myself, side windows are nice and easy. Rear, not so much.... Cause of the curvature it is hard.

Another tip if you do decide to do the back window, use a hair dryer LIGHTLY to gently shrink the film to the curve. Any excess heat and it just splits.

Another option which I have not tried myself but PoundLand sell a 'Automotive Window Tint' in a aeresol can. God knows if it is any good or not.

Window tint in an aerosol? That's a new one for me! May have to try it out! :D

And did you use pre cut sheets? Or have to cut it yourself?

I cut it myself.

And I am gonna give the aerosol can a try on a sheet of Perspex, had it sitting in my garage for a few months now.

Post a picture when done, if decent enough I may try it out
