Hi guys, wonder if anyone could advise on this, there's a terribly loud squeak coming from the front of the car (pretty sure anyway, hard to tell exactly) and it's at its noisiest when:

I start moving / I go over speed bumps / I take my foot off the accelerator when going at speed.

My first thought was the suspension as it's at it's loudest when going over speed bumps so I'm wondering if I can grease (oil?) up the front suspension - is that simple enough for me to try?

Other thoughts are the bushes (how would anyone tell which one?) or perhaps the suspension arm as only one was replaced for my MOT so perhaps the other is on it's way out, though that is least likely in my opinion as the other worn out part never squeaked.

It's really driving me batty and I'm hopful I can avoid going back to the garage if I can avoid it!

Forgot to mention, I have standard suspension, no coilovers.

Also, I usually put 32psi into my tyres but last week I over inflated them slightly at 34psi and this seemed to stop the squeak - did it again today and same thing, the squeak seems ot go - could be a good indicator of the issue for someone with brains (not me!)

It's always difficult to diagnose any sort of noise without actually hearing it.

You could try 'bouncing' on each side of the car in an effort to replicate the noise - but even if you can hear it under these conditions, you would probably need an assistant to do the 'bouncing' whilst you investigate the source.

Are you sure that the noise is not 'rotational' - like the road wheel/tyre or brake rubbing?

There is nothing in the suspension bushes to lubricate, but sometimes when the bushes are worn and making noises, this changes or even disappears when it is raining heavily.

I'm not sure why an extra couple of psi in the tyres should make a difference, but you could try dropping the pressure a little lower to see if this aggravates the problem.

From experience i would say this noise is definitely your front wishbone rear console bushes, When i replaced mine I also replaced my front wishbone front bushes, ARB bushes and droplinks.
