I don't really know I always just called it a GTC

Gt carb's - it went rather well - until the divorce we'll leave it there :-(

Thanks for the welcome

Why am I here? Well I noticed a few good threads on engine building

My intention for the little estate is I'd like to build her into a 1400 CC GT and a little gentle (for fun) sprints / hill climbs I will put some questions, ideas I have in the appropriate sections and look forward to some good ideas to realise my little project

Hi Tony,

I'm an old guy as well and just like to dabble in cars and keep up interest. My heart lives with hot rods and modified American V8s namely Chevrolet but my Mk2 Polo is solid and worthy of praise considering it has only broken down once and I was not driving it. The man in the testing station was. Plans are turbocharging, upgraded brakes, upgraded gearbox, fuel injection and boring/stroking the engine to 1.5. Anyway enjoy and I hope you get to build your 1.4. Some replies on the forum you have to view with a pinch of salt so you have to research any questions you have. There is a lot out there and German Ebay can be a good source of parts.

Regards

Phil
