So for Christmas I got goodies for the polo, new taillights and new headlight and sidelight bulbs (will get pics once I wash it)

165/55 is not safe on 8". Better safe than sorry

I ran it for 2 years, pretty sure it's fine, the 55 sideway helps!. Now a 165/40 would be really stupid.

Also 195/45s will need ridiculous arch work and will look pants as you will hardly be able to tuck tyre.

I've no idea lol (haven't had time to investigate tbh) through the battery light up and then died out lol.

That's what I'm hoping lol, tried drying the engine off and cleaning the distribution cap. Still no joy :( not to bothered if I'm honest lol

If you have a multimeter there is a test you can do to see if it is the alternator...I cant remember the test correctly off my head but Its in my thread somewhere not far back. (Johns 1.3 polo breadvan project)

If your alternator is dead its most likely the brushes and you can get a whole regulator with brushes to swap into your alternator for a few quid. Its only a couple screws to swap the regulator and can be done in a couple minutes so well worth a try before blowing money on a whole alternator

Worked out the cars not getting spark at all (thinking it's the coilpack) have a new one being delivered tomorrow at 11 so touch wood that's the problem solved. Also looking for some small 6n bits (listed below)

-the wee covers that sits bellow the inside of the door locks (circular things that sit between the door and the locks from the inside)

-an areal

-the plastic cover for the fuses ontop of the battery

If anyone has any of these please pm me :)

Back in action :) coilpack replaced and it started first lift :) love a good simple engine
