6n2 anti roll bar -- compatible with 6n1?

Featured Replies

Took 6n1 to garage today as it behaves like a boat when cornering, been told it has no anti roll bar, but should have.

So I look on ebay and other sites to find a kit, but can only find for 6n2, will that be compatible, or is there any differences between 6n1 and 6n2?

Thanks.

The original part numbers are the same for the 6N & 6N2

Looks like your car has been lowered in the past or is at the mo. The arb is removed to get lower.

Don't think so. Asked a scrappy specialising in polo's, says he has 6 of the 95-99 model and none of them have ARB. Plus it's a 5 door 1.4 open air with 13" wheels, can't imagine anyone wanting to lower it.

Think I'll order a 6n2 scrap one and just hope it fits.

Ok, have ordered it, and some new drop links. Can anyone advise where to get brackets for the ARB? I have the bushes but can't find where to buy brackets, or even if they are needed?

You need item # 21 in the picture it will be VW or TPS to supply new, they are listed @ 1.5 €uros in Germany

Thanks very much Nige8021.

I'll need "5" as well?

Tried googling the part numbers but no idea where to buy in the UK?

(5) N 10319901 hexagon head bolt (combi) AM12X1,5X80- SW18 /

Parts will be VW or TPS to supply

The 1.0 and 1.4 8v 6n didn't come with an ARB, the 1.6 had an 18mm, 1.9D a 20mm, and 1.4 16V a 22mm ARB.

I'm not even sure if the 6n2 8v's had one, but the 16v's do.

I'm currently in the process of fitting one on my 8v (18mm).

things you will need:

2 of these tabs (from VW or TPS as nige said)

2 of these bushes (£5 each on ebay)

2 of these droplinks with bushes and bolts (£25 a set on ebay with everthing included)

2 M8 x 16mm Bolts (22 on the above pic)

I'm not 100% sure if you need the M12x 1.5 x 80 (5) as I have no markings on the tabs to reflect their use, and it does look like they bolt through the rear wishbone bush, but will confirm when fitting I guess haha

also to note, make sure you get the correct size bushes/droplinks for your bar!

Excellent advise here! @OpenAir and R10tz0r how did you get on in terms of the fitting and the result. Read on another thread that a farb on its own is not that great anyway so wondering what you're first hand impressions are
