What carbs was it made for? It really does make a difference. And it's unlikely to fit 1.6 engines either

It was made for a mk2 1043cc with 400cc zxr carbs but didn't think there would be much difference between 400 and 600 with a bit of movement from the hose.

There could be. I have two sets of cbr600 carbs with different spacings and inlet diameters.
