flashing amber light under steering column?

Featured Replies

Not sure if this is in the right place, but today I put my boombox in my 6n2 and as I used the hole next to the brakeline to feed the power cable through with my head stuck under the steering column where it enters, I noticed a flashing amber light, does any one know what its for??

I have a couple of issues with the car, like the central locking not working and I had to replace the tailgate but haven't managed to connect the loom yet cuz its a pain trying to get to the connectors behind the panel, though thats only to get the 3rd light and rear screen wiper working, but I also noticed that one of the lights on the rear near side has been disconnected, if I plug it back in, it stays on permanently, its not the brake light or indicator or normal light, so my only assumption is that it could be a second reversing light?

The previous owner has upgraded the headlights to xenon lights and I suspect theyve messed up the electronics somehow, and the sidelights arent working either, it didn't come with an owner's manual and I dont have the haynes one either yet, could anyone shed a light on my problem please?

Thanks a lot :)

Ps the amber light is right under the steering column, not on the dash

Oh and ppps when I left the car unused for a week, I came back to an empty battery, so it must be draining somewhere too
