I'm changing wishbone. Is it wise to use copper grease on all car bolts?

Don't want anything slipping out whilst driving.

Copper slip is way over rated,

Only use it on wheel bolt threads and keep it away from alloy to steel mating faces as it will promote corrosion,

No need to use it on brake components (apart from threads ) i have a tub here it must be twenty year old I only ever use it for threads.

Honestly mate, I'm a bus mechanic and copper grease is UNDER rated. It really does make a huge effect of stopping things seizing. Especially brakes, back of the brake pads where they touch the caliper helps so much next time you change them.

So yes copper grease threads and any shouldered/smooth parts of bolts going through any other metal. Makes life a lot easier for the next time you or whoever changes bits

yeah works for me , life would be much easier if cars had come with copper slip on the bolts from new lol

I've also got a tub of waterproof grease and a little brush , when I'm doing a job i brush some on any exposed threads, bolt heads and brake fittings etc to make things easier

Copper grease causes many arguments at work. Some say that you should NEVER grease wheel bolts/studs because it will not be set to the correct torque. Others say that in the real world things start seizing if there is no grease on there.

The only manufacturer that we found to recommend lubrication of the threads was Lotus who say a drop of engine oil on the threads should be applied before torquing.

I personally always use copper grease on suspension components.
