Car tax prices per month

Featured Replies

Anyone know how much a 1.3 mk2f is per month Inc the first months payment as that's usually higher?

It's £12.77 1st month then £12.68 subsequent months

Thanks

Forgot to add, that was for my 1.4 Ibiza ( same tax group) on a 12 month rolling direct debit

I'm the same for my mk2 which is also in the same tax group. Certainly a better idea as you don't notice £12.68 coming out every month as much as you do when you buy 6 months or a year at once.

It certainly is the best way to pay for it, it's not even the cost of 2 pints of lager a week unless your paying London pub prices :)

plus the fact that you may sell your car in 3 months after paying 6 months tax which will be 3 months unused and of no use to the next owner either!

I've just bought a mk2/f 1.0 and I've tried to tax it online and pay monthly, but it says I need to go to a post office for some reason?

I've always paid for 12 months, so this is the first time I've tried to do it monthly, do you have to go to a specific website?

I used https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax

Also, it's a 1.0 boulevard (whatever that is?) and its £145 for a year, is that right? Seems too high.

Price seems right enough compared to my monthly payment.

Could it be that you won't be the registered keeper yet on their system? Seems a bit odd though if that is the case, what if you were to buy a car after the post office closes? How are you meant to legally drive it home if you can't tax it?

It is a bit strange.

Another thing that's strange is it has tax unil 31/05/15 and has the old style disc, but on the website it says it runs out on the 16/05/2015, how is this possible if the disc is still here?

It has a valid mot and what I thought was a valid tax so I got my old man to drive it home as he has a trade policy and it covered him.

I'm going to go to the post office today and see what I can do, just s bit odd.
