How do you fit a new rear quarter window on a 9n?

After some kind person smashed mine for me.

I have a replacment window but it has only the rubber on the left hand side it appears as tho it was just tiger sealed in place as round the rest of the glass it looks like cut "tiger seal"

Do i just remove the remains of the old window from the car down to the paint?

Then remove the rest of the "tiger seal" off my replacement window clean and re "tiger seal" onto the clean frame and tape until dry?

Is it really this simple or should i get a windscreen fitter to do it?

I'm sure you could do it yourself :) only thing I can see that would/might cause a problem, the bonded glass is considered part of the integral strength of the shell, and heaven forbid you had an accident and a rear seat passenger was seriously injured, your insurance company might start asking awkward questions about the installation of that glass !!

Looking at that I maybe could do. Can I use tiger seal?

Here's the correct adhesive/activator :) but I'm sure tiger seal would work?

- D 181801A1 activator for precoated windows 10ML /

- D 00920002 primer for glass and paint 10ML /

- D 00940104 cleaning solution 250ML /

D 00950025 applicator 'order unit 25'

- D 00200010 adhesive remover 900ML /

tiger seal does seem more or less what they use , although you can go onto ebay and find the proper window adhesive so id choose that

warm the tube in some hot water so it flows easier , then cut the nozzle in a large upside down V so that you caulk on a V shape bead of sealant , check carefull that theres no gaps and smooth them down with a wet finger if need be

then place the window into the car and tape it in position over night , make sure the gap is even all the way around , you might need a wooden wedge or lolly stick etc to jam the gaps until its dry

One last thing i have the window which has been cut out of the original car, how do i prep this the rub is cut neat in a slant all way round. However the outer rubber that you can see round the edge of the window has been cut off the one that goes inside the door however is still attached? Should i cut the rubber still on the car so that the outer rubber around the edge remains attatched to the car?

Also do i take the old rubber away completeley down to the paint or make both surfaces flat ( remaining rubber and window remaining rubber)
