Mk3 Golf Coilovers

Featured Replies

I understand this may be a silly question, but seeing as they're very similar cars, would the coilovers I have on my 6n fit on a Mk3 Golf GTI?

Couldn't think of a better place to ask than here. :P

I'm sure years ago one of my mates put mk3 Golf coilovers on a 6n and the fronts were fine. So I don't see why the other way round would be any different.

Rears are a different story though, the shocks are a lot longer on the Golf.

I figured it would be something along those lines!

But still, if you don't ask you never know. I was looking at a GTI tonight but my offer didn't get accepted and the insurance was still quite high.

fronts are the same, but the standard rear shocks are a lot longer. so i assume they would need to be wound up a lot more to level it with the front, but people seem to like having the car scrape on the floor so shouldn't be a problem.

I bought a mk2 Golf in the end! But it's good to know for future reference.
