hi all,

i have just brought a set of inpro lights.

the left hand side ( projector lights ) says it should be h3 and the right hand side h7.

i thought h3 were for fogs? should they not be the other way round? meaning h7 to be my main?

should the h7 be in the projector side?

i brought these used, previous owner used them the way they are.

also would anyone know if the front glass is removable?

Front glass is removable, if it's glass put it in the oven for a short while and then very carefully lever the glass from the bottom edge. If it's plastic it's the same, but be extra careful as they are plastic and change shape when hot.

From the pictures the projector is h3 and the rubber boot on the main beam side has 2 pins so I can only assume it's h7. No bulbs have a specific fitment, as long as they produce the correct beam pattern you can use whatever type of bulb you want.

Also, if they are left hand drive, it's very easy to change to rhd, just un bolt those 4 bolts holding the projector part and take the projector apart, there is a shield inside the faces one way, just flip it over and put back together.

Just curious, is this for the Mk3/2f? I've always wanted projectors but literally *just* spent £30 on some new H4s... if I had seen this topic a day earlier... dammit!

Fitted them up yesterday...

Look well kool, just need to get hid bulbs for projectors :)

Let's see some pictures of them fitted.

Just make sure that the HID bulbs you get illuminate at the same depth and height in the housing as the standard bulbs element. Otherwise the focal point will be all wrong and you'll blind everyone.

As above, there are 2 generic types of h3 go for the h3C this has a much smaller element and has a much better output then the crap normal h3 long ones.

Also well worth mentioning, you don't have to use hid bulbs, a decent relayed harness and even garden variety bulbs will hold up to hid in terms of output. Get some slightly higher wattage bulbs in there of decent quality and output will be better then hid and have spot on beam patterns, sharp cut offs and hot points and will be a quick swap for a few quid if it blows in the middle of nowhere.

i have not seen how bright these are yet in the dark, have not had a chance to use them yet.

they are yellow in colour but i take it i can get white h3 or h3c bulbs?

my old hid kit is still in the car but do not have it wired up yet as i do not have the h3 hid bulbs. i have seen a car with these lights using hid's and it didnt look to bad.

i was using hid's on my standard headlights and they were bright - i think they were too bright!! but looked good :)

i am in the process of buying a new wiring harness.

i was looking to buy an upgraded loom from rayne automotive £29.99.

similar to the one on ebay!

Have also seem some 55w h3's and 100w.

Will 100w be too much?

The fittings on h3c's are different.

I meant the HID h3c, it fits into the holder the same, but it's more compact and gives a better output compared to the normal H3 longer bulb.

100w will be a bit too bright for dipped beams, good for main beam though.

There are 80w ones available, but even 55w ones will be great with proper wiring to be hem.

The picture shows a h4 bulb, but I imagine if they lost it they will stock them.

Worth a shot as I couldn't find them cheaper on ebay.
