Over the last year my headlights on my 9N polo dune have slowly clouded and yellowed. They aren't too bad but I would prefer to sort it before they become bad. I've read about using toothpaste or similar will clear them up but at the sacrifice of damaging the plastic and removing the uv protection which would lead to further problems. So basically my question is what is the proper way to get my headlights looking good again?

Three options:

*Toothpaste

*Sandpaper and polish

*New headlights.

No other options as far as I'm aware. If they're already cloudy surely the UV protection's not working any way

Heard toothpaste works well I used t cut myself as I Heard that works first and come out like new

Did a similar job on mine and the wife's daily Astra's and P1000-2000 followed by G3 compound worked a treat.

We are assuming its yellowing on the outside?

I've seen a couple of cars now where the user has fitted cheap bulbs (100w) behind a plastic lense only to discover that the bulbs are not 'low UV'.
