Ok..I've owned the car a year now

silver 6n2 2001 1.4 8v

current state STOCK :( lol plus a few stickers..(adding at least 2bhp each :P)

Anyway spent the year fixing it more than driving it.... had the gearbox off more times than i can remember now its nearly ready to start modding

all done outside in all weathers car life go to love it :P

just spent the time tidying it up replacing anything that was worn or in need of it.

the list iincludes

new brakes all round
new track rods
new ball joints
bottom arms

clutch

tappets
bushes all round
clutch cable
pedal box

engine/gearbox mounts
new betls

2 new front wheel bearings
central locking pump
plugs filters etc
vac pipe

abs sensor

ignition pack

rear light

haha oh dear anyway

mods so far include

gti gear gaiter
kw suspension
d90 wheels staggered 6 for fronts 8 for back (still to fit)
gti clocks (still to fit)
bits of interior sprayed/dyed black to get rid of awful grey

standard dewiper

starting to get a bit more interreting now timing belt test fitting wheels

sorting the rear bushes in preperation for coilies

pressing the bushes in was a nightmare took it to a garage and they couldnt do it as wouldnt fit in press
eventualy my mate made a jig up for a bottle jack and success but went through two pairs of bushings trying haha

getting there fitting painted rear axle back on
rear coilies conncted up and wound down to 13 threads left
slightly higher on driver side s needs adjusment but letting them settle for now then will fine tune

GET LOOOOW! haha finaly after a years waiting

just fronts to do wheels to test fit again the adapters to buy

one of top mount bolts captive nut has come away from the rubber so is just spinning f****g cars
progress is slow at the moment new top moubnts needed should be better anyway, wanted to replace but didnt have cash at time

How much did you buy your KW Coilies for man?

iflakers....found out i could finance them from demon tweeks haha

Exactly the same thing happened to my top mount bolt twice, not a funny moment

yeah it sucks especially as it was the last corner and i have no money for new top mounts for a couplke of weeks :(

Exactly the same as me, always happens the same place now even thought I got new top mounts. Never touching my suspension again - biggest ball ache hahahha

my mate suggested flipping them so nuts on top. so can be accesed again if it does happen but i dont think thatl work

I just got a garage to do it for half an hours labour around £25.00 so they just got a new top mount bolt and sorted it. Getting it off was a struggle

ah fai enough ha i just drilled bolt came straight out ha

i ment you car tbf pal what you driving?

easier way i guess At the moment not a lot, Lowered (all helpers out), Wheels, Cambered and audio. Not really planning on doing much more as I would like a new car

thats pretty much what i planning on doing
and running it like that till engine swaps are a posibility
how low you gone chassis notched?

I'm running Blueline JOM's coilovers and all helpers are out all the adjusters to the bottom so can't actually go any lower without getting new coilovers. Don't rub at all so no chassis notch needed

haven't been on in a while just been enjoying having my car on the road but have been up to a few things mainly tidying up the interior

I've got about 13 threads left all the way round but cant go any lower on stock tyres ha rubs like hell on full lock, i bottom out all over the place but god i love been low so much fun on the twistys

re dyed headliner cant recomend auto brite black dye enough so easy to apply dries quick and looks nice
auto glym dye not so much
put another cup holder in
had a go at re trimining some plastic pillars not bad for a first go not perfect but not bad
started to build my sub box for rear wheel well
and false floor to hide ugly sub grill

much happier with how the interior looks now just need some new seats and to install some better sound ha

thanks man tidy some more bits up on the interior get my sound system all fitted (done now)
give it a good polish and finaly fit my wheels haha

anyone selling any pcd adapters? 4x100 to 5x130?
