Bertha the Breadvan

Featured Replies

Hello guys, just joined the club merely seconds ago and so this is my first post!

Going to start a build thread here on my mk2 polo bread van.

Got the car about 3 months ago after looking for the perfect one since passing my test 2 years ago.

This was that add on gum tree and after contacting the lad who owned decided she was for me and made the 110 mile trip to pick her up!

Reach the destination to be met by the bread sat on the drive and instantly fell in love.

With 70k miles on the clock and not a speck of rust i was more than happy with it!

Started up first time and drove the 110 mile trip home with not even a splutter!

Felt amazing on the motorway!

She's a mk2 polo breadvan 1.3L CL :D

got her home to have my dad ask what the hell i had bought (he has now come round to the swag of the bread van and he loves it too ;))

I have more pictures i just need to make a smaller size as there is a 2MB limit!

But hope you guys like Bertha so far!

Welcome along!, looks like a very clean breadvan.

Upload your pictures to Photobucket and copy the IMG links onto here. That way you can put as many full size pictures on here as you like.

Welcome along...

Hi guys,

Using photo bucket so now I'm back to bring you up to date with what i have done so far!

So i got the car home and was super excited, first job being that i just had to take off the lower fog lights because they were super ugly!

Then i took the bread over to my girlfriends house to give her a good thorough clean

Couldn't believe the difference in the seats after abit of TLC (Closest seat not done to show the difference)

I had then ordered some white wall trims for the tyres as a temporary option until i get some alloys

And heres the finished result!

After cleaning for a second time at my gfs when taking off the hub cap i prefered the look of the steely with the white wall so decided i would leave them off

Her dad also had some silicone restorer i used on the plastic trims and it brought them out like new!

Couple days later decided i would spray the steelies black as i was loving the look!

Difference here between the sanded and un-sanded steely

And heres the before and after of the spray job!

Fitted the wheels on and looked great

And so thats as far as i am up to so far with Bertha!

Next on the list is obviously some mad lows, I'm thinking balls to the walls and go 90 front 80 rear?

Then some nice alloys and sounds and removing bump strips and such!

Let me know what you guys think!
