I want to moderately lower my 1997 16v Polo.

Are the springs standard across the range or has the 16v got different springs.

So say I went for 40mm lower springs and the 16v already has lower springs I wouldnt get the 40mm drop - right?

Any difinative help would be great so I can get them ordered.

The 16v was 10mm lower as standard. So yes any kit you buy will lower it 10mm less, the end result will be the same on any 6n though.

But a 40mm drop on a 6n is nothing anyway.

Not enough to counter the fact that VW decided the 6n needs a 7m arch gap.

I have the 6n2 modal of this. (1.4 16v 100bhp) and i went for Coilovers. Gone about a 70mm drop all round and sits very nice atm. plus handling is sooo much better now.

Go for adjustable coil overs.
